Winter Dreaming

0

Winter came …  and is still here …  with cold, stark landscapes that rival the cinematic ones in Game of Thrones. Your only relief is longer sleep. And with the deeper sleep, your dreams are more intense. And not only have we had a long winter, we’ve had powerful full moons, lunar eclipses, and retrograde planets.

The energy has been destabilising all round, but the mist is about to lift. All the while you’ve been winter dreaming, you’ve hibernated, percolated, processed, instigated and sown seeds of what your future life looks like.

Spring is coming … and seeds that were buried in frozen soil are now green shoots. Your waking life is filled with new possibilities.

Your dream card for today is ‘Focus’

For enlightenment, stay in the moment: ‘Chop wood. Carry water.’ Avoid distraction. Meditate. Bring unresolved issues into view.

Do you sometimes dream of cats? Do they have special powers? Are they part human? The Tibetans believe that cats are the royalty of dream movers. They own the dream world!

Native American traditions tell stories of shape shifters – people who change their physical form and often taking the shape of their power animals. This can include cats of any size.

The ancient Egyptians revered their feline companions – and mummified corpses of cats have been found in tombs, buried with their owners.

Why do cats feature so prominently in the world of intuition and spirituality? Like other animals, cats are adept at communicating on more subtle levels than most humans are.

Do you have a dream story about communicating with an animal and synchronicities or visions that followed?

Dream Loss – an epidemic

0

There’s a lot of attention given to the fact that we are sleep deprived more than ever before. But did you know that we are also dream deprived? We are experiencing an epidemic of dream loss.

We dream mostly in REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement) but we also dream in some NREM (non REM sleep). So, what’s the issue with that? If sleep deprivation has side effects such as confusion, disorientation, memory loss and increased fast rate, what are the effects of dream loss?

Disordered dreaming is when our dreams are disrupted. It causes us to feel tired, depressed, unwanted awakenings and nightmares. The loss of our personal dream is the loss of our creativity and spirituality, as well as eroding our intuition.

What to do? Have good sleeping patterns and practices; a healthy lifestyle; avoid excessive alcohol, tobacco and certain medications that prohibit dreams. Don’t put your dreams at risk. Make dreams important.

Manifest your dreams

“You don’t choose the dream. The dream chooses you.”

How does a dream choose you? Think about it. Are you haunted by a dream? What if it’s a strong feeling or desire for something? Like, wanting to move to a new place? That strong pull that demands you pay attention. If you don’t, you get more restless, edgy and generally dissatisfied with life. Then you go to sleep and you can’t or if you do, you have those dreams you can’t remember but leave you exhausted in the morning.

You know it’s time to follow your dream. It’s chosen you for the adventure. Go to a new place. Leave your old job you hate. Travel to hidden and mysterious places. Be a pilgrim and stay where you would never have dreamt of before – a farm stay; a monastery; a hut; a camping ground; a haunted pub.

When you listen to your dream, you listen to your soul. Feed your soul. Stray away from your well worn path – even if it’s just for a while.

I dream of Avalon

0

I will be travelling to London soon. With one proviso. I visit Glastonbury – the ancient site of Avalon, where King Arthur died.

I will climb the Thor – the tower of St Michael’s church up on the hill. I will look over the land that once was an island – the mystical isle of Avalon. There I will breathe in the history of King Arthur, his knights, Queen Guinevere, Morgaine, the great priestess, Merlin, and Lady of the Lake.

It’s here that I will think about before I fall asleep each night and ask my dreams to bring me knowledge and understanding of this magical time in myth and history. What messages will I receive? What oracles?

Once we open up to possibilities of a place having such strong vibrations steeped in myth, we release the gates of the past and invite our mysterious guests to bring us messages. All we need to do is set the intention.
